LONDON, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- British inched down on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index decreasing by 0.11 percent, or 8.05 points, to close at 7,263.90 points.
Europe's leading home improvement retailer Kingfisher was the worst performer among the blue chips, with its shares losing 4.09 percent. J Sainsbury, a major British supermarkets chain, dropped 4.05 percent. British low-cost airline EasyJet, fell 2.60 percent.
The top gainer of the blue chips was Johnson Matthey, a British speciality chemicals company, soaring 14.60 percent. Anglo American and ITV both increased by 2.90 percent. Enditem
