BUDAPEST, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- The Portugal national soccer team defeated the Hungarian team 1-0 in the FIFA World Cup European zone qualifier here on Sunday.
Andre Silva settled the victory for the European champion Portugal in the 48th minute with his head goal, validating Cristiano Ronaldo's pass.
The Hungarians were eliminated from next year's tournament in Russia.
Hungary last participated in the World Cup Finals in 1986.
