TEHRAN, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- United Nations Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura is scheduled to pay a visit to Tehran on Sunday to discuss the Syrian crisis with senior Iranian officials, Press TV reported.
De Mistura will hold talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari on the latest developments in Syria and the settlement of the crisis through political negotiations.
The visit will come ahead of the next round of Syria peace talks in Kazakhstan's capital city of Astana, slated to be held in mid-September.
