At midday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 156.74 points, or 0.72 percent, to 22,015.06. The S&P 500 gained 25.65 points, or 1.05 percent, to 2,466.97. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 79.07 points, or 1.26 percent, to 6,335.63.
