ANKARA, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- Turkey reshuffled land, air and navy commanders at a meeting of the Turkish Supreme Military Council (YAS) on Wednesday, Hurriyet Daily News reported.
Gendarmerie Forces Commander Gen. Yasar Guler will be appointed as Land Forces Commander, Gen. Hasan Kucukakyuz, commander of ballistic missile defense unit at Eskisehir Air Base, is expected to become the new Air Forces Commander, and Vice Admiral Adnan Ozbal will be the Naval Forces Commander, Hurriyet said.
Incumbent Chief of General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar will continue his post until 2019, it added.
All three outgoing commanders have completed their terms in their posts, and the decision about the appointments will be announced from the presidency.
It is the third YAS meeting since last year's failed coup attempt, after which thousands of soldiers have been purged for being part of the plot.
Turkish President Erdogan is expected to host a dinner for YAS members at the presidential complex on Wednesday evening.
