RIO DE JANEIRO, July 30 (Xinhua) -- A second-half strike from defender Rever earned Flamengo a 1-1 draw with leaders Corinthians in Brazil's Serie A championship on Sunday.
Former Manchester City striker Jo gave Corinthians an early lead after a counter-attack at Corinthians Arena before Rever squared the ledger with a low shot after Juan's headed pass.
The result extended Corinthians' unbeaten run in Brazil's top flight to 17 matches. The Sao Paulo club lead the 20-team standings with 41 points while Flamengo are fifth, 12 points adrift.
In other matches on Sunday, Atletico Goias won 2-1 at Chapecoense, Vitoria drew 0-0 at Cruzeiro, hosts Gremio drew 1-1 with Santos, Sport won 3-1 at Bahia and Atletico Mineiro won 2-0 away to Coritiba.
