LONDON, July 6 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.41 percent, or 30.32 points, to close at 7,337.28 points.
Associated British Foods, a British multinational food processing and retailing company, soared 2.57 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Barclays and Barratt Developments increased by 2.42 percent and 1.72 percent, respectively.
The multinational commodity trading and mining company Glencore was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 2.52 percent. Fresnillo, an Mexican-based precious metals mining company, dropped 2.45 percent. The British industrial equipment rental company Ashtead Group fell 2.21 percent. Enditem
