RIYADH, July 6 (Xinhua) -- A Saudi security officer was killed and three others injured in fresh attack on Thursday in al-Masoura neighborhood in eastern province of Qatif, Al Arabiya local news reported.
The security officer was member of special forces who were on duty when a terrorist group targeted them to obstruct the arrival of equipment to Al Masoura construction project, which was the location of their hideouts, the report said.
Saudi interior ministry said a soldier was killed and three others injured in a rocket-propelled grenade attack in the same neighborhood two days ago.
Attacking police and military personnel is common in the region by violent youths who are members of minority Shiite community in the Sunni conservative state.
