SOFIA, July 4 (Xinhua) -- Bulgarian authorities on Tuesday burned 413 kg illicit narcotic substances, the National Customs Agency said in a statement.
The drugs, among them 302 kg of marijuana, 59 kg of heroin and 30 kg of cocaine, have been seized by the agency and the Ministry of Interior in the course of 905 criminal proceedings, the statement said.
Authorities estimated the total value of the destroyed drugs on the black market would be about 37 million BGN (21.5 million U.S. dollars).
Bulgaria is a key transit route for drugs smuggled from Asia to Europe. Over the last 17 years, Bulgaria has destroyed drugs with a total weight of 38.3 tons, the statement said.
