WARSAW, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Defence, terrorism, migration and the European Union's (EU) outer frontiers dominated Friday's talks in Warsaw between Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydlo and her visiting Spanish counterpart Mariano Rajoy, according to Polish Press Agency.
"Poland and Spain have a similar vision on the issues of building a strong, effective and citizen-friendly EU; a similar stand on Brexit or the single market, the cohesion policy as well as the security policy," said Szydlo during a joint press conference with Rajoy.
Szydlo also expressed satisfaction with the growth of the economic exchange between Poland and Spain. "We are linked with multi-billion investments, thus we plan to develop and deepen this cooperation," underlined the Polish PM.
"We will also strengthen our joint position in the areas of security policy, infrastructure, agriculture, environmental protection, sports and education," said Szydlo.
For his part, Rajoy said Spain and Poland were satisfied with their NATO membership and considered the Alliance fundamental for their safety. He also declared Spain's readiness to raise defence cooperation with Poland on the NATO platform.
Rajoy said he and Szydlo had also discussed terrorism, especially in light of Poland's approaching non-standing membership on the UN Security Council.
Commenting migration talks with Szydlo, Rajoy said he and the Polish PM reviewed the causes of the present migration crisis and declared their countries' cooperation in migration issues.
He added that accompanying talks between Spanish and Polish ministers had concerned bilateral cooperation in economy, culture, science, education and sport.
On Friday, Polish-Spanish inter-governmental consultations were held in Warsaw, including a plenary session with ministers of both cabinets.
