KIEV, June 26 (Xinhua) -- The Ukrainian government said on Monday it will reform the State Fiscal Service (SFS), the country's tax body, in an attempt to improve the business environment.
"The reform should result in the creation of a normal business climate," Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman was quoted as saying by the government press service.
Under the planned reform, the SFS would turn into a government institution, which supports and defends the entrepreneurs instead of creating obstacles for doing business, Groysman said.
"It should be not a punitive body, but an intellectual one, with serious and civilized powers," he emphasized.
In the World Bank's 2017 Doing Business ranking, Ukraine was ranked 80th among 190 economies. In the paying taxes category, the East European country dropped from 83rd to 84th place in the ranking. Enditem
