TIRANA, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Starting from June 20, Albania will have a one-stop-shop for the publication of country's essential macroeconomic data, official sources told local media Tuesday.
Albania starts the implementation of enhanced general data dissemination system (e-GDDS), a project realized with the assistance of the International Monetary Fund (IMF)s Statistics Department, official sources said.
The IMF mission, who visited Albania recently, supports the development of the National Summary Data Page (NSDP), which will be posted on the INSTAT website, utilizing the Statistical Data and Metadata Exchange (SDMX).
Publication of essential macroeconomic data through the new NSDP is expected to provide national policy makers and domestic and international stakeholders with easy access to information that the IMF has identified as critical for monitoring economic conditions and policies.
Albanian authorities and IMF experts believe that making this information easily accessible will allow all users to have simultaneous access to timely data and will bring greater data transparency.
Thus, the NSDP will give users access to full information about Albania's data categories, local media reported.
The was established by the IMFs Executive Board in May 2015 to support improved data transparency, encourage statistical development, and help create synergies between data dissemination and surveillance.
