MOSCOW, June 12 (Xinhua) -- At least one infant died and 17 others were wounded in a car accident on Monday in the Tomsk Oblast in Russia's Far East Siberia Region, the regional office of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
The bus carrying 27 passengers crashed into the roadside lawns and overturned on the Tomsk-Kolpashevo highway at around 12:00 local time (0500 GMT), according to a statement released on the administration's website.
Local traffic police have launched investigation into the accident, the statement added.
Meanwhile, Russia's RT news agency, however, reported that the number of injured has risen to 24.
One day earlier, another bus crash occurred in Russia's Trans-Baikal Region. So far the death toll has increased to 12, according to local branches of Russia's Investigative Committee and Ministry of Healthcare.
