DUBAI, June 11 (Xinhua) -- United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan directed on Sunday to take into account the humanitarian situation of UAE and Qatari families in recognition of the "brotherly people of Qatar," UAE state news agency WAM reported on Sunday.
Last Monday, the UAE cut diplomatic ties with Qatar and demanded Qatari citizens living in the UAE to leave the country within 14 days. The UAE, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, along with six other mostly Arab states accuse Qatar of sponsoring "extremism and terrorism."
In order to implement the president's directives, the Ministry of Interior has set up a hotline to receive such cases and take appropriate measures to help them.
The source said these measures were in line with the statement issued by the UAE that severed ties with the State of Qatar for the pretexts mentioned in the resolution and its procedures.
The statement underscored the UAE's commitment to the well being of the brotherly Qatari people as a natural extension of the brotherly UAE people.
