ISLAMABAD, June 10 (Xinhua) -- The Pakistan army said Saturday that at least one civilian was killed in Indian firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in the disputed Kashmir region.

An army statement said the Indian troops committed ceasefire violation and killed a 70-year-old man.

"Pakistani troops befittingly responded to silence Indian guns," the statement said.

The Pakistani Foreign Ministry also strongly condemned the unprovoked Indian firing at the LoC and violation of ceasefire agreement.

In a statement, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nafees Zakaria said continued firing of Indian forces is a serious threat to peace in the region.

He said targeting and killing of innocent civilians across the LoC is a condemnable act.
