MADRID, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Real Madrid will on Sunday night celebrate the conquest of the 12th Champions League title in the club's history with their supporters in the heart of the Spanish capital and also in the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
Two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, plus further strikes from Cesemiro and Marco Asensio, gave Real Madrid a 4-1 win over Juventus in Cardiff on Saturday night, sparking scenes of celebration in the Spanish capital.
Thousands of supporters made their way to the Cibeles fountain, the traditional scene of Madrid's celebrations, even though the club announced the players would not be going there after returning from Wales.
The celebrations at Cibeles, which coincided with the news of the terrorist attack which claimed six lives in London, were more muted as a result and ended with some violent scenes as more radical fans threw rubbish containers at police, who responded by firing some rubber bullets.
Real Madrid have confirmed that the players will visit the Plaza Cibeles on Sunday night to dedicate the title to their fans. The team will travel down the central Paseo de la Castellana in an open-topped bus before returning to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium where the celebrations are scheduled to continue at around 22.00 hours.
The Spanish capital will see tight security measures with vehicles weighing more than 3,500 kilos prohibited from circulating in major roads in the center of the city while the celebrations are being held.
