HONG KONG, May 26 (Xinhua) -- The Hong Kong Arts Development Awards 2016 Presentation Ceremony, organized by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, was held Friday in China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
A total of 32 awards were presented to local artists, arts organizations, schools and institutions, in recognition of their unstinting support and contribution to the arts development in Hong Kong.
Among the various awards, the Life Achievement Awards, the highest accolade, was bestowed on renowned ink master Wucius Wong, while the Award for Outstanding Contribution in Arts went to celebrated Cantonese opera artist Yau Sing-Po, theater veteran Mao Chun-fan and renowned lyricist Cheng Kok-kong.
Other awards presented included Artist of the Year, the Award for Young Artist, the Award for Arts Education, the Award for Arts Promotion and Award for Arts Sponsorship, among others.
