RIO DE JANEIRO, May 25 (Xinhua) -- Luis Suarez will miss Uruguay's friendlies against Ireland and Italy next month due to a hamstring injury, the Uruguayan football association said on Thursday.
The Barcelona striker suffered the injury while training with his club Barcelona in preparation for Saturday's Copa del Rey final against Alaves.
The 30-year-old is expected to be sidelined for at least two weeks.
Suarez, who was suspended for Saturday's match but continued to train with his teammates, scored 37 goals in 51 matches across all competitions for Barcelona this season.
Uruguay will play Ireland in Dublin on June 4 before a clash with Italy three days later in Nice, France.
