LAHORE, Pakistan, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's eastern Punjab Province on Tuesday started a two-day expo of its export-oriented industries in its capital city of Lahore, which attracts over 300 delegates of foreign companies on the opening day.
Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated the exhibition at the Expo Center here and expressed his hope that the event would provide an opportunity to the visiting foreign investors to collaborate with Punjab's local industries for future ventures.
"Following the success stories of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the world is coming to seek investment prospects in Pakistan and I hope this exhibition will pull more investments and will help us eradicate poverty," said Shahbaz.
The exhibition, organized by Punjab Board of Investment & Trade in collaboration with the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry, is the first of this kind being held in the Pakistan's most industrialized province with the purpose to attract more foreign investments.
