Iran, South Korea sign deals on water, energy cooperation

TEHRAN, April 30 (Xinhua) -- Iran and South Korea signed two memorandum of understanding (MoUs) to expand mutual cooperation in water treatment and energy sector, semi-official Fars news agency reported on Sunday.

The MoUs were signed between Managing Director of Iran's Tavanir Company Arash Kordi and Deputy Head of Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) Hyang-Reol Lyu in a meeting in Iranian capital Tehran on Saturday.

According to the agreements, both sides will cooperate in Clean Development Mechanism and Energy Storage Systems.

Iran will import SF6 purification devices from South Korea, and KEPCO will also launch energy-saving system in Iran and implement an experimental project.

South Korea offered 25 billion U.S. dollars aid for infrastructure investment in Iran last May.
