HANGZHOU, March 17 (Xinhua) -- A county in east China's Zhejiang Province dismantled 60 sauna parlors after a fire in early February killed 18 people and injured another 18, local authorities said Friday.
The fire broke out at around 5:27 p.m. on Feb. 5 at Zuxintang Foot Massage Parlor in Tiantai county in the city of Taizhou. Four people were detained on suspicion of "very serious dereliction of duty" after the fire.
The county has launched a campaign on fire safety in public places in the wake of the incident.
So far, 60 sauna parlors with serious fire hazard have been cleared and 1,258 entities, including companies, stores, supermarkets and entertainment venues, have been suspended for rectification, according to a county government spokesperson.
