Cavs smash Pistons 128-96

WASHINGTON, March 14 (Xinhua) -- LeBron James got his 52nd career triple-double as the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Detroit Pistons 128-96 on Tuesday night.

James, the four-time MVP, picked up his third triple-double in the last four games at the 3:45 mark of the third quarter and finished with 16 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists. Kyrie Irving added 26 points. Iman Shumpert scored a season-high 18 points for Cleveland, who are 3-5 in March but still lead Boston by 2.5 games for the best record in the Eastern Conference.

Tobias Harris led Detroit with 17 points. Andre Drummond had 8 points and 14 rebounds. Marcus Morris scored 13 points for the Pistons, who are seventh in the East.

Cleveland enjoyed a good start by making their first 10 3-pointers and hitting 22 of 25 shots for a 60-33 lead early in the second quarter. The Cavaliers made 19 of 30 3-pointers and shot 60 percent from the field for the entire game.
