Guardiola wins Manager of the Month award

Source: Xinhua   2017-03-11 04:10:31

LONDON, March 10 (Xinhua) -- Pep Guardiola has been named English Premier League's Manager of the Month for a perfect league record in February.

Manchester City won all three of their Premier League matches, scoring eight goals and conceding one.

They began the month with a 4-0 victory at West Ham United and went on to secure a late 2-1 home win over Swansea City before triumphing 2-0 at Bournemouth.

It is the first award for Guardiola since his arrival in the Premier League last summer. He is the first Manchester City head coach to be honoured since Manuel Pellegrini in August 2015.

The 46-year-old was selected by a combination of votes from a panel of experts and the public, from a four-man shortlist that featured Manchester United's Jose Mourinho, Tony Pulis, of West Bromwich Albion, and Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte.
