JUBA, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- Authorities in South Sudan have banned night parties in the capital of Juba in a bid to fight increasing cases of night-time killings that have rocked the city in recent months.
The government of Jubek State issued an order on Friday evening banning operation of night clubs and social gatherings within the city.
Jubek State Information Minister Sala Rajaf Bunduki said anyone who contravenes the order will face punitive measures from authorities.
"All clubs and marriage functions during the night are banned in the city, unless they get permission from the relevant authorities," Bunduki said.
The South Sudanese capital have experienced rise in insecurity in recent weeks. At least 12 football fans were killed early this month when an unknown gunman attacked a bar where a crowd was watching a football match on TV.
