CAIRO, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- The Egyptian Health Ministry denied on Thursday the illness of 25 schoolchildren as a result of wrong vaccination, official MENA news agency reported.
The Egyptian state TV reported earlier on Thursday that the 25 kids of a school in Fayoum province southern the capital Cairo fell sick after improper vaccination against meningitis, while some local websites further reported deaths, which all has been rejected by the Health Ministry.
"Today's vaccinations were all safe and recognized by the World Health Organization," MENA quoted the ministry's spokesman Khaled Megahed as saying, describing the circulated news as "completely untrue."
Megahed noted that there are no injuries among the children and none of them has been taken to hospital due to the Thursday's vaccination.
