RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Sun Gang claimed China's first wheelchair fencing gold medal of the Rio Paralympics by defeating Britain's Piers Gilliver in the men's individual epee category A final on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old won his maiden Paralympic title by taking the match 15-13 at Carioca Arena 3.
In the bronze medal duel Tian Jianquan of China beat Iraq's Zainulabdeen Al-Madhkhoori 15-11.
