BEIJING, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- Two officials from Guizhou Province and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region are under investigation for accepting bribes, the Supreme People's Procuratorate said Friday.
Gao Jinlin, former chairman and Party committee secretary of Qiannan Prefecture committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), has been placed under "coercive measures" after allegations surfaced that he had accepted bribes.
Wang Qi, former Party committee deputy secretary of Xinjiang Investment Development (Group) Co. Ltd., has been arrested and detained for the same crime.
Coercive measures can include arrest, detention, issuing a warrant to compel a suspect to appear, bail pending trial, or residential surveillance.
The investigations continue.
