JERUSALEM, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- At least 18 people were injured and more are missing after a four-story parking structure in Tel Aviv collapsed on Monday, Israeli authorities said.
The underground structure, located in the neighborhood of Ramat Hachayal in northern Tel Aviv, was still under construction, said Eran Yehuda, a police spokesman.
Ramat Hachayal is a business quarter of high-tech offices and restaurants.
The manager of Israel's medical emergency teams, Eli Bin, said 18 workers were rescued and one of them sustained serious head injuries.
Emergency crew are searching for other construction workers feared to have been trapped inside the structure, under debris and sands.
Initial reports suggested that a construction crane collapsed but later reports said it was not clear what caused the structure to buckle.
