HO CHI MINH CITY, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- VN-Index, the stock market index of Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City bourse in south Vietnam, closed at 658.5 points on Thursday, down 2.27 points, or 0.34 percent, against the previous trading day's closing session.
About 116.130 million shares worth 2.568 trillion Vietnamese dong (VND) (117.21 million U.S. dollars) changed hands at the southern HCM City Stock Exchange. Prices of 101 stocks went up, 103 stocks fell down, while 82 stocks remained unchanged.
VN30-Index, the new benchmark index for the southern bourse, which tracks the 30 leading stocks by both market capitalization and liquidity, closed at 649.06 points, up 1.89 points, or 0.29 percent.
A total of 46.888 million shares worth 1.371 trillion VND (62.62 million U.S. dollars) were traded on Thursday.
