ANKARA, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- Two Turkish soldiers were killed in a roadside bomb attack launched by Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) militants in southeastern Turkish province on Tuesday, Dogan News Agency reported.
The attack happened in Uludere district in province of Sirnak at noon time on Tuesday when an armored vehicle of Turkish army hit by explosion from PKK controlled roadside bomb, killing two soldiers.
Air operations in the region to neutralize PKK militants were launched after the attack.
Over 600 members of Turkish security forces and 7,000 PKK members have been killed in confrontations inside Turkey and northern Iraq since July 2015, according to local media.
The PKK is listed as terrorist organization by the United States, the European Union and Turkey.
