JERUSALEM, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- An Israeli plane en route to Kiev, with 182 passengers on board, was heading for an emergency landing in Tel Aviv after one of its wheels exploded during take-off on Thursday night.
A spokesperson with Israel's Airports Authority said the plane belongs to UP, a low-cost carrier of El-Al airlines.
Dozens of firefighting crews and Magen David Adom emergency medical teams were awaiting the plane at the Ben Gurion Airport outside Tel Aviv.
The spokesperson said the plane is expected to land at around midnight, after dumping its fuel at sea.
