LANZHOU, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- A fire at a limestone mine in northwest China on Tuesday afternoon has left nine people trapped, local authorities said.
The fire occurred at a limestone mine in Zhangye City in northwest China's Gansu Province at 4:15 p.m. Firefighters and a rescue team rushed to the scene after the fire occurred, local authorities said.
Rescue work is under way and no further details are available regarding the nine trapped people.
