NEW YORK, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale jolted 221km E of Vao, New Caledonia at 19:56:22 GMT on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 22.95 degrees south latitude and 169.6 degrees east longitude.
