BEIJING, Dec. 5 (Xinhuanet) -- Hainan Airlines of China has employed resources including aviation, tourism, finance, logistics and services to form a chain in support of the country's Belt and Road Initiative.

Many cities in China are thus further connected with the world with the expansion of the airline’s routes, said Meng Chen, General Manager of Hainan Airlines St. Petersburg Office lately.

Since 2015, Hainan Airlines have launched several direct international air routes, such as the routes of Chongqing-Rome, Xi’an-Rome, Beijing-Manchester, he cited as examples.

Currently, Hainan Airlines operates nine European routes, Meng said.

In addition, “We provide comprehensive services for the development of 'Belt and Road' Initiative”, Meng Chen said, noting “Hotel and other services are available wherever the airline operates”.

Also, Hainan Airlines has acquired container lessor giants Seaco and Cronos in recent years, marking a new step into the international leasing market.

“Through better container leasing services, diversified products and wider service networks, Hainan Airlines will be able to better serve the development of Maritime Silk Road”, added Meng Chen.

Hainan Airlines is part of the HNA group and the largest privately-owned air transport company and the fourth largest airline in terms of fleet size in China.
