TOKYO, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo shares closed lower Monday on new reports about Russia's alleged involvement in U.S. President Donald Trump's presidential campaign.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended down 111.87 points, or 0.49 percent, from Friday at 22,707.16.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 9.66 points, or 0.54 percent, lower at 1,786.87.
Decliners were led by nonferrous metal, marine transportation and machinery issues.
The day's turnover was around 2,409.6 billion yen (21.32 billion U.S. dollars).
