2 killed in mine collapse in northern Turkey

ANKARA, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and another injured when a mine collapsed in Turkey's Black Sea province of Zonguldak on Monday, local Dogan News Agency reported.

Three workers were trapped inside the mine which is operated by Turkish Hard Coal Institution after the accident occurred.

The emergency service teams and ambulances were dispatched immediately to the scene.

Following nearly three hours of searching work, one of the trapped workers was rescued from the ruins and taken to the local hospital, while two others were found dead. The investigation was underway.
