LONDON, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.68 percent, or 51.11 points, to close at 7,432.99 points.
J Sainsbury, a major British supermarkets chain, soared 1.31 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Barratt Developments and Merlin Entertainments increased by 1.31 percent and 1.16 percent, respectively.
Bunzl, a multinational distribution and outsourcing company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 6.54 percent. SSE, a major British energy company, dropped 2.44 percent. The British fashion house Burberry Group fell 2.29 percent.
