BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- Britain's Prince Charles arrived here on Thursday to visit Brunei during a tour of Southeast Asia, and he will meet Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
According to an earlier statement from the British High Commission to Brunei, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, will visit Brunei and personally congratulate the Sultan on the golden jubilee of his accession to the throne.
The visit demonstrates the warm and special relationship between the two royal families, especially the close friendship between the Sultan and Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, the statement said.
Prince Charles and his wife last visited Brunei in 2008, when they visited the British Forces Brunei in Seria where the Prince interacted with the Gurkha Battalion as their Colonel in Chief.
As part of his regional tour, Prince Charles and his wife visited Brunei after Singapore, and will travel from Brunei for their first visit to Malaysia, after which they will go to India.
