6.8-magnitude quake hits 89km E of Tadine, New Caledonia -- USGS

HONG KONG, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.8 magnitude jolted 89km E of Tadine, New Caledonia at 02:23:56 GMT on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 13.9 km, was initially determined to be at 21.572 degrees south latitude and 168.747 degrees east longitude.
