Indian markets open higher

MUMBAI, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Indian markets opened higher Tuesday as equity benchmarks extended previous day's gains in opening, backed by positive Asian cues.

Metals, technology, cement and select banks stocks gained strength.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex opened at 32,638.71, 131.99 points or 0.43 percent up compared to its previous close at 32,506.72.
