BEIJING -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.35 percent to close at 3,378.8 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.12 percent lower at 11,271.2 points.

MUMBAI -- Indian markets closed higher Monday. Equity benchmarks continued to trade strong, backed by metals, auto, pharma, IT and FMCG stocks.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex closed at 32,633.64, 200.95 points or 0.62 percent up compared to its previous close at 32,432.69.

KUALA LUMPUR -- The Malaysian stock market ended mixed here on Monday.

The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI) was at 1,754.37 down 0.95 points or 0.05 percent, and the Emas was at 12,594.49 up 14.80 points or 0.12 percent.

HANOI -- Stock market index of Vietnam's capital Hanoi, HNX-Index, closed at 109.3 points on Monday, up 0.2 points or 0.18 percent against the previous trading session.

Over 44.973 million shares worth some 523.309 billion Vietnamese dong (some 23.3 million U.S. dollars) were traded at the Hanoi Stock Exchange on Monday, an increase of 11.9 percent in volume and 1.6 percent in value against the previous trading session.
