ISLAMABAD, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan and Iran have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Sunday to improve border security between the two neighboring countries, according to local reports.
The MoU was signed during a meeting of the joint border commission of the two countries in the coastal Gwadar city in Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province, the Radio Pakistan said.
The commission was formed in May this year to curb cross-border movement of terrorists and to address other border-related issues.
On Sunday, the 21st meeting of the commission was held in which joint proposals regarding border situation, security matters, immigration and trade between two countries were discussed.
The representatives from the both countries expressed determination to put a check on drugs smuggling and intrusion of illegal immigrants in the border areas.
Both sides also stressed that their soil should not be used for terrorism against each other.
