ISLAMABAD, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- One pilot and two officers were injured when a trainer plane of the Pakistani army crashed in the country's northwestern tribal area of South Waziristan on Friday, a military statement said.

The statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistani army, said that the trainer "Mushshak" aircraft was on its routine flight when it crashed in the Wanna district of South Waziristan Agency, a semi-autonomous tribal area boarding Afghanistan.

The plane was carrying a pilot of major rank and two other officers with lieutenant colonel and major ranks, the statement added.

No causality has been reported on the ground yet. The plane crashed due to some technical fault, said the ISPR.
