KATHMANDU, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- Around 150 Nepali and Chinese doctors, health professionals and students gathered here on Friday for a special Chinese culture talk on traditional style medicine.

The event was organized by the Chinese Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Chinese embassy to Nepal and the China Arts and Entertainment Group.

According to the organizers, this is the first time the traditional Chinese medicine was introduced formally to the Nepali health professionals and students.

On the occasion, Chinese professors Fu Yanling and Lu Zhong and doctor Zhang Lin delivered speeches focusing on importance of Chinese medicine.

"Chinese medicines are the effective measures to adopt a healthy lifestyle by maintaining balance between body and mind," professor Fu said.

Built on a foundation of more than 2,000 years of practice, the Chinese medicine includes various forms of herbal medicine, acupuncture, massage, cupping, exercises and psychology therapy.

According to the speakers, this traditional style of medicine has been widely popular in China and is becoming effective in other parts of the world as well.

A similar talk program was organized in a top hospital in Kathmandu on Thursday with the participation of doctors and medical students.
