TOKYO, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar inched down to the mid-112 yen zone Wednesday in Tokyo amid speculations on the likely successor of U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen.
At 5 p.m. local time, the dollar was quoted at 112.51-53 yen compared with 112.79-89 yen in New York and 113.09-10 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Tuesday. It moved between 112.42 yen and 112.89 yen during the day.
The euro fetched 1.1756-1758 dollars and 132.27-31 yen against 1.1739-1749 dollars and 132.49-59 yen in New York and 1.1742-1744 dollars and 132.79-83 yen in Tokyo late Tuesday afternoon.
