COLOMBO, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena on Tuesday strongly condemned the Las Vegas shooting which killed at least 59 people and injured over 500.
In a message on his official Twitter account, Sirisena said he was shocked over the shooting, and that collective action against such menace was essential.
Sri Lankan officials in the United States said that there were no reports of Sri Lankans being among the dead or injured.
A gunman opened fire from the 32nd floor of a hotel in Las Vegas in the U.S. state of Nevada towards an open-air music festival on Sunday evening, causing heavy casualties.
