TIRANA, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- Albanian gross domestic product (GDP) registered an estimated growth of 4.06 percent year-on-year in the second quarter of 2017, official statistics showed Friday.
In the previous quarter, Albania's GDP posted an annual growth of 3.94 percent, thus growing by 0.36 percent on a quarterly comparison basis and confirming the growing trend, institute of statistics (INSTAT) said in a quarterly report on the economic growth.
According to INSTAT, the main contribution to this increase was given by the branches of the economy such as construction by 1.84 percentage point, industry, electricity and water by 0.69 percentage point, trade hotels and restaurants and transport by 0.52 percentage point.
On the other hand, branches such as other services, professional services and administrative services gave a negative contribution, data showed.
In 2016, Albanian economy expanded by an estimated 3.5 percent while the Albanian authorities expected the economy to grow above 4 percent levels for the next coming years.
