KABUL, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- Four Taliban militants have been killed following an airstrike in Afghanistan's eastern province of Paktia on Thursday, the government military said Friday.
"On a confirmed tip off, Afghanistan Operational Coordination Group (AOCG) personnel carried out an airstrike on a Taliban position in Ahmad Abad district, Paktia province at around 05:00 p.m. yesterday, killing four members of Taliban terrorist group," AOCG said in a statement.
Two motorbikes were also destroyed following the attack in the province with Gardez as its capital, 100 km south of Kabul.
The elimination of the targeted militants would further improve the public security in the eastern provinces, the statement added.
Taliban has yet to make comments.
