TOKYO, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks advanced Thursday morning reflecting gains on Wall Street overnight and the U.S. dollars' rise, after President Donald Trump proposed cutting corporate tax rates as a part of a tax overhaul.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 58.47 points, or 0.29 percent, from Wednesday to 20,325.52.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 5.89 points, or 0.35 percent, at 1,670.32.
Insurance, metal product and bank-oriented issues comprised those that advanced the most by the morning break.
