Biathlon athlete Fourcade appointed France's flagbearer at PyeongChang Winter Olympics

PARIS, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Biathlon double Olympic champion Martin Fourcade was voted on Tuesday as the flagbearer of the French delegation for the Winter Olympic Games next February in PyeongChang, South Korea.

Board of Directors of the French National Olympic and Sports Committee met in Paris and unanimously voted for Fourcade as the French delegation's flagbearer.

Fourcade won 20km individual and 12.5km pursuit gold medals in Sochi Winter Olympics in 2014. He was also an 11-time world champion, and claimed the overall World Cup title for six seasons in a row.

The flagbearer and the French Olympic team will be presented on October 4 in Paris.
